First of all let me apologize for two things- number one that is has been so long since the last update and number two that there aren't going to be any pictures on this blog. In fact, I am going to keep this pretty short and sweet because I will post later with pictures and more details about the outreach we just went on with the DTS. For now, though, I wanted to let everyone out there with inquiring minds know that Monday, May 2 is Mario's visa appointment. That means that if (I am believing it will be more of a when than an if) they grant him his visa, we will be heading to Bakersfield shortly after. There are a lot of unanswered questions still, but those will addressed in due time. For now, I would just like to share some of our needs/prayer requests with you and thank you again for your faithful support.
Prayer Points:
-The visa- not only that he would get it, but that it would be a smooth process that doesn't take too long to finish
-Plane tickets- if (when) he does get his visa, we will need to fly out by the end of the week to be home in time for the wedding
-Funds to finish up the wedding and help us out on our trip
-Wisdom for both of us
Thank you again for everything! We can't wait to see what God has for this next step in our lives!!!

Puerto San Jose
We took a day trip with some of the DTS students this past Saturday to Puerto San Jose. I seriously love that place. We have some friends that live there who are always willing to help us out in any way and this time was no different.
We left around 7:30 on Saturday and headed for the multiple bus trip down. The first few buses were not too bad, but the third bus and longest part of the journey was packed. The buses are all old school buses from the USA so the seats are really made for smallish children to be in to begin with, but to top it off this bus was not just 2 to a seat but 3 to a seat all the way back! I was toward the front and I had to keep standing and lifting up my leg for each new person who got on. I was also leaning against a woman who was in the seat across from me when she began to breast feed her baby, who was also half in my lap. It was all quite the experience! I am glad that I was in the front, though, because when we finally got off some of the girls in the back told me that the lady who was next to them had a live chicken in her bag. I think I would have freaked out and maybe even screamed out loud had I been made to endure that portion of the trip next to bird lady. God is good, even in the small things!
Well we finally got to Puerto San Jose and our friends picked us up and we hopped in the back of the pick up truck and headed for the beach. The day was beautiful, with sunshine, a small breeze, and a perfect temperature. The water was warm and wonderful, was usual. I love swimming in a warm ocean because it is something that is rare where I come from. We had some friends offer to bring us lunch so we took them up on it and put our orders in. We ate at some picnic tables on the beach and the day continued on with some more swimming and a walk on the beach with the cutest guy I know. It was a great day and it was good for us to be able to get away from the base for a day and enjoy some more of God's wonderful creations!
